Connect Wynter to your AI assistant

Connect Wynter to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Codex so your AI tools can read your completed survey results directly — no exporting, no copy-paste.

The connection is read-only. Your AI assistant can read results. It cannot launch tests, edit anything, or change your account.

What your assistant can and cannot see

It can read:

  • Your team’s completed survey tests — name, type, completion date and audience size
  • Every question, and every respondent’s answer in their own words
  • Each respondent’s participant alias, job title, company size and industry
  • The participant roster and the demographic breakdown for a test
  • The statistics Wynter calculates for each question

It never sees:

  • Contact details. Email addresses and phone numbers typed into free-text answers are removed automatically before results ever leave Wynter.
  • Tests that are still running
  • Tests run against an audience you supplied yourself
  • Anything belonging to another team

You can disconnect at any time from Company settings, and you will see exactly which assistants are connected and when each last read your data.

Before you start

You need a Wynter account and a completed survey test. Nothing else — the integration is available on every Wynter team account.

Connect from Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Server URL: https://api.wynter.io/mcp
  3. Claude will say automatic client registration is not supported. This is expected — it is not an error. Continue.
  4. Client ID: wynter-claude-web
  5. Leave the client secret field empty. Wynter uses a public client with PKCE; there is no secret.
  6. Sign in to Wynter and approve the consent screen.

Connect from ChatGPT

ChatGPT needs developer mode switched on before a custom connector can be added.

  • Plus or Pro: Settings → Connectors → Advanced and enable developer mode.
  • Business, Enterprise or Edu: a workspace administrator has to enable it for your workspace first.

Then:

  1. Add a custom connector.
  2. Server URL: https://api.wynter.io/mcp
  3. Client ID: wynter-chatgpt
  4. Leave the client secret empty.
  5. Sign in to Wynter and approve.

Connect from Claude Code or Codex

These use a personal access token instead of a browser sign-in.

  1. In Wynter, go to Company settings → API tokens.
  2. Create a token and give it a name you will recognise later.
  3. Copy it immediately — it is shown once.
  4. Paste it into your tool’s MCP configuration. Wynter shows you the exact configuration snippet for your tool on that page.

Personal tokens expire 90 days after you create them. Create a new one when yours runs out.

Managing your connections

Company settings → API tokens lists personal tokens. Any member can create their own. The team owner can see and revoke everyone’s.

Company settings → Connected apps lists every AI assistant connected to your team — who connected it, when, and when it last read data. Members can disconnect their own connections; the team owner can disconnect any of them.

Revoking a token or disconnecting an app takes effect immediately.

Large results

Most tests come back complete in a single response. A very large test is delivered in parts instead: your assistant receives a notice listing the pieces, then reads them one at a time. This is normal, and no result is ever silently shortened.

Limits

Each connection can make about 120 requests a minute. Beyond that, requests are refused until the next minute begins. Normal use will not reach this.

Your data

Contact details are removed from free-text answers before results reach a connected assistant. Wynter records that a connected app made a request and how large the reply was — never the content of your results, and never your conversations with the assistant.

Once results reach Claude or ChatGPT, they are handled under that provider’s terms and your own settings there.

Full detail is in the Wynter privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

“Automatic client registration is not supported” — Expected. Enter the client ID shown above and carry on.

No option to add a connector in ChatGPT — Developer mode is off. Turn it on in Settings → Connectors → Advanced, or ask your workspace administrator.

The sign-in page will not complete — Start the connection again in the same browser tab you began in.

Your assistant says it cannot find a test — Only completed survey tests are visible. Running tests, and tests using an audience you supplied, are not.

Requests suddenly refused — You have reached the request limit. Wait a minute.
