Most companies look like everyone else, and that's a problem

Most companies operate in mature, saturated categories. If we look at the top 20 or 30 companies in any such category, we will find a bunch of sameness.

Sameness is the combined effect of companies being too similar in their offers, poorly differentiated in their branding, and indistinct in their communication.

Most comapanies offer no meaningful differentiation. They state their value proposition as if they were the only company doing what they’re doing.

Differentiation is about giving people a clear reason to choose you over others. When your ideal target customer is on your website, do they get that it's for them, and are they able to articulate why go with you?

If you think people might buy your products or services without checking out the competition first, think again.

Research says that consumers, on average, visit three websites before making a purchase. The more expensive the product, the more time people take to comparison shop.

They know what the alternatives are. You just need to make a strong case who is best served by choosing you.
